Wow, and here I've been reading through Bleach since last week, so I actually know who these people are now (currently about 60 chapters away from catching up to Japan).
Byakuya officially became awesome in the sand sculpture contest omake at the end of chapter 238. Apparently even the mangaka likes messing with the guy. :P
